CCTV
CCTV means Closed-circuit television, which broadcasts are usually transmitted to a limited (closed) number of monitors, unlike "regular" TV, which is broadcast to the public at large. CCTV networks are commonly used to detect and deter criminal activities, and record traffic infractions, but they have other uses.
Advantages of CCTV
- Peace of Mind: Feel safe, feel secure and feel good! Knowing that you have a CCTV system installed by professional CCTV installers goes quite some way to putting your mind at rest about the safety of your family, business or home.
- Deterrent and Crime Prevention: Criminals are dissuaded from breaking into your premises and stealing from you or committing other crimes such as vandalism and anti-social behaviour.
- Prosecution: If a crime does occur within or outside your premises, then prosecutions have a greater chance of being successful if you have CCTV installed. Suspects can easily be identified and CCTV footage is compelling evidence for courts.
- Remote Monitoring: Modern systems allow remote monitoring on a computer, tablet or mobile phone via a secure connection over the internet. You can login remotely from anywhere in the world and check your CCTV cameras for activity.
- Ideal in Conjunction with Intruder Alarms: Remote monitoring is particularly useful if you also have an intruder alarm installed. When your alarm is triggered you will receive a notification or call to your mobile phone and if you are away from home, on holiday for example, you can login to view your camera footage and determine if the incident is a false alarm or not.
- Reduced Insurance Premium: Insurance companies will often reduce your premium if you have CCTV installed. It's worth calling your insurer to find out if you can have a discount on your premium and save money.
- Low Price, High Quality: These days CCTV installation is relatively inexpensive. Cameras, digital video recorders (DVR) and installation by an experienced installer is cost effective and when looking at the advantages above is well worth the cost.
